With the adoption of SharePoint on the increase, it is important from a compliance and governance perspective to track which users have been accessing the various resources stored in SharePoint. Muhimbi SharePoint Audit provides an easy way to enforce farm wide auditing while still providing the flexibility to override these settings, with the Administrator's consent, at the Web Application or Site Collection level .
In addition to enforcing audit rules, SharePoint Audit also makes it easy to view and filter audit events from the comfort of your browser without the need for external applications, special audit servers or 3rd party agents.

View the audit log for a single file.
Unlike the limited Audit functionality that ships with MOSS 2007, SharePoint Audit runs on both WSS 3 and MOSS 2007. Our flexible administration model scales from the smallest SharePoint Deployment to environments with dozens of Web Applications and thousands of Site Collections.
Supported Audit events
Choose from a myriad of different event types ranging from something as simple as viewing an item to tracking who has changed the security rights on a file. For full details click the Specification tab at the top of this screen.

Fine grained control over which events to Audit
Powerful hierarchical administration model
SharePoint Audit allows administrators to define audit settings at the following levels:
- Web Farm: Audit settings that apply to the entire farm.
- Web Application: Providing overriding of settings is permitted at this level, each Web Application can be configured separately.
- Site Collection: Providing overriding of settings is permitted at this level, each Site Collection can be configured separately.

Define audit settings at the farm level.
A flexible licensing model
Not all SharePoint environments are created equal. To keep our software affordable for small organisations with a single SharePoint Server, while still being able to provide support for larger organisations with dozens of SharePoint servers across multiple locations, the following license types are available.
- Web Application License: For use in all Site Collections in a single SharePoint Web Application.
- Web Farm License: For use in all Site Collections on a single SharePoint Farm.
- Site License: For use in all SharePoint Farms at a physical location.
- OEM License: For use in an unlimited number of physical locations.
- OEM + Source code License: For use in an unlimited number of physical locations and the right to access / modify the source code.
All licenses include 1 year of support during which all upgrades are free. The support contract can be renewed after this period expires. When the contract is not renewed you can continue to use any version that was released before the expiry of the contract. The description in this section is just a summary, full details are available here.
